Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. I heard that if I take my senior photos with someone besides the school photographer, I won't be in the yearbook?? Is that true??
A. This is an absolute MYTH, and an absurd idea at that. You can still take your yearbook photo with the school's photographer and then get your works of art done with the Society! Of course, there are different rules and regulations with every school in your neck of the woods, but we have the scoop with how it works for our local High Schools.
Having your yearbook photo taken by the school's appointed photographer is free. If your parents decide they would like to purchase the photos taken by that photographer, they will have to make a deposit for the proofs. By no means are your parents obligated to purchase their generic and run-of-the-mill school photos.
You are unique and who you are as an individual and it should show in your senior photos. Don't be sucked in to anyone's "scare tactics"! You have options and should have the freedom to choose a style that reflects your unique individuality.
On another note, if you have uestions about your yearbook photo, you should contact your school and ask the right questions. For example: Can I still be in the yearbook even if I'm not interested in purchasing their formal or casual photos with proofs? r Is there a fee involved for me having my photos taken at another studio for submission to the yearbook?
